Meet Benny Kravitz

Meet Benny Kravitz

Meet Benny Kravitz*, local musician pursuing his passion here in Boston. Meet Benny yourself this summer in Sleuth: Case of the Dead Paparazzi.

Interviewer: Are you from around here?Stewart
Benny Kravitz: No, I’m from out West.  California.  I came out here for love.  What I thought was love anyway…

Interviewer: You’re a musician, right? What do you play?
Benny Kravitz: I play everything.  There isn’t an instrument on God’s green earth that I can’t make something beautiful come out it… except the bagpipes.  There’s nothing beautiful about the bagpipes.

Interviewer: How long have you been playing music?
Benny Kravitz: When I was four years old, I made my first bowl of cereal, by myself.  After that, I wrote a song about it.  I’ve been at it ever since.

Interviewer: What made want to you start?
Benny Kravitz: It was a really good bowl of cereal!!

Interviewer: What do you like to do in your down time?
Benny Kravitz: Other than consume copious amounts of alcohol… not much.

Interviewer: Where’s your favorite place to hang out in this city?
Benny Kravitz: There’s a spot in the North End.  It’s near a park, and overlooks the river.  It’s quiet, because tourists never seem to go that far into the North End, but it’s close to all the restaurants, so if I get hungry while I’m trying to find some inner peace, I don’t have to walk very far.

Interviewer: What’s the most exciting thing that’s happened to you?
Benny Kravitz: I opened for Springsteen at Fenway once.  After the show, one of the E Street Band gave me the rest of his sandwich.  It was a tuna salad on wheat bread, just slightly toasted, with a little butter.  Best sandwich I ever had!

Interviewer: Do you see yourself staying in Boston?
Benny Kravitz: I’ve got no plans.  If the city and I decide we should go our separate ways, then so be it.
